Barnett Log Cabin

Take I-20 west from S. Bowie Dr., 8.1 miles west on I-20, exit at Brock (exit 397), go south on FM 1189 for 4 miles. Trip from Weatherford takes about 15 minutes.

 

Built by the M.W. Barnett family in 1884 the cabin is on a 155 acre homestead that was once part of an 1858 acre land grant given to the family of Samuel Riddle who fell at the battle of Goliad.  The two room cabin was restored in 1964 by Mrs. Junita Brock McEntire, granddaughter of M.W. Barnett.  The larger of the two rooms measures 16x8.
